H.S. Baseball: Mills clinches another league title
ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - On a crazy weather Wednesday, the New York Mills baseball team clinched another league title, winning the CSC IV with a sweep, 3-0 over Poland and 4-1 over Oriskany at Delutis Field. It was a windy night in Rome, with rain having swept through much of the Mohawk Valley in the afternoon.
In the first game, it was a pitcher's duel until the sixth inning, where Mills scored all three of their runs.
In the nightcap, the Marauders scored in the top of the first, on an RBI single by Zach Vennero, scoring John Sadallah. The big Mills first baseamn would score the game's second run in the fourth, on a sacrifice fly hit by Shaun Kula.
The Marauders got a pair of insurance runs in the sixth, as Joe Pacini smacked a two run double to the right field corner scoring Kula and Addison Wolanin.
Mills is a perfect 9-0 in CSC IV this season and improved to 13-4 overall with the win. Oriskany fell to 7-2 in the league, 13-5 overall.
