By MIKE LEVIN

NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New York Mills boys basketball team took home another championship at the 8th Annual Ed Wadas Classic, beating CSC Division IV rival Oriskany 61-53 in overtime Friday night.  Matt Welch, the tournament MVP, led the Marauders with 30 points and 12 rebounds.

The Redskins held their own with the defending Class D state champions, trailing just 8-7 after the first quarter.  Their big man, Steve Rossi, scored 22 points and was just as much a prescene in the middle as Welch was for Mills.  Austin Smith also added 17 points for Oriskany, who trailed just 20-17 at halftime.

In fact, the Redskins took the lead, 33-32 at the end of three quarters, before the Marauders tied it up and sent it to overtime, where Mills outscored Oriskany 10-2.

Cody Mariotti grabbed 12 rebounds while scoring four points for the Marauders.  Nick Comenale had six steals and five assists as well as four points.  J.T. Ross scored 11 points, with a trio of three pointers.

Prior to the start of the game, Mills honored their 2011 Class D state championship team, as Fred Russ and Jeff Albright returned along with other Marauder alumni.
