Mohawk withstands rally by rival LF

MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk boys basketball team held off CSC Division II rival Little Falls Saturday night, winning 76-69.  The Mounties rallied from a double digit deficit late in the third quarter and pulled within three points before the Mohicans clinched the win at the free throw line.

Carson Murphy led Mohawk with 27 points, along with eight steals and seven blocks.  Mike Santillo scored 18 points as well, while Kainan McCarthy added 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks.

Mitchell Baumeister led Little Falls (1-3) with 21 points, hitting five three pointers.  Jesse Lonis had 18 points, while Tyler Baumeister added 12.

Mohawk (5-1) will be back in action Tuesday at home against West Canada, with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
