New season of King of Kings tips off

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The 2013 season of King of Kings bsasketball began Monday night, with a trio from the Syracuse Orange drawing a good crowd at Utica College.  In the second game of the night, Utica Select beat Takeover 84-78.  Rakeem Christmas scored 12 points and added 5 rebounds for Select, while C.J. Fair led Takeover with 21 points and 13 rebounds.  DaJuan Coleman added 15 points and 15 rebounds for Takeover, the runner-up from last year's tournament, formerly known as J-D's Finest.

In the first game of the night, defending champions Upstate Swagger beat Syracuse Elite 86-68.  Holland Patent and SUNYIT grad Dave Golembiowski, who currently plays in the German pro league, led the way with 25 points and 5 rebounds.
