WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - Matt Felitto played his first game of the 2012 season, but Whitesboro still lost their first game of the season Friday night, 40-24 to Nottingham at Chiz Frye Field. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 26-0 lead and never looked back.
Felitto paced Whitesboro on their first drive, picking up some big yardage, but a fumble halted that momentum. Nottingham took advantage, as QB Marty Clanton picked up a short score.
The Bulldogs continued their momentum, recovering an onside kick, then grabbing a 14-0 lead as Clanton connected with TyQuon Hightower in the corner of the end zone.
Clanton threw for 137 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 73 yards and two more scores.
Felitto rushed for 175 yards and three second half touchdowns in his first game since recovering from a hamstring injury.
Whitesboro (2-1) will hit the road for a game next Friday night at Watertown.
