Oneida downs Holland Patent

ONEIDA, N.Y (WKTV) - Oneida earned their first win of the 2011 season Friday night, beating Holland Patent 26-6.  The Indians scored the first four touchdowns of the game, taking a 19-0 lead to halftime.

Tyler Mallinder got the Indians started with a 51 yard run on the first offensive play of the game.  That set up a short TD toss from Mallinder to Kyle Peck.  Later in the first quarter, after Mallinder took a brief rest, his replacement, Greg Torrey, threw a 13 yard TD to Peck.

The Indians added to their 12-0 lead early in the second quarter, when Dylan Cafalone ran for a short score.  In the fourth quarter, Zach Reif added another Oneida rushing TD, though the Golden Knights responded as Taylor Short took the kickoff back 76 yard for Holland Patent's only score of the game.

Oneida (1-2) will head to Marcellus next Friday night, while Holland Patent (0-3) goes to Cazenovia on Saturday.
