Sauquoit Valley preps for another run

SAUQUOIT VALLEY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Sauquoit Valley Lady Indians finished the regular season 14-0-2 and earned the two seed in the Class C-1 sectionals.

Their first goal was met as they won their division. Goal number two? Win their third straight section title. Goal number three? Win that elusive New York State Title.

"This group, these seniors especially, they've been through two state finals, they've gone through 60 some odd games with only three losses, but nobody has scored more than two goals, and that bodes alot for our defense." Says head coach Tim Clive.

His Lady Indians aren't just a team, they are a program that has been building for years. The hard work and dedication these players have put in year around shows. "It means alot to be a part of such a successful team and you just know all the hard work we put in is paying off." Says senior goalie Vanessa Jecko.

Sauquoit begins defense of their section title on Thursday when they host Frankfort at 6pm.
