Spartans fall in season opener

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - In their first game under new head coach Kariane Busch, the New Hartford girls lacrosse team fell 15-4 to ES-M.  Ashley Chanatry and Annika Zalewski each scored a pair of goals for the Spartans.

New Hartford is coming off a year in which they made their first ever playoff appearance, but also lost a number of key seniors, who had grown up with the sport.

Marlee Vlassis (four goals, three assists) and Nikki Devona (four goals, two assists) led the way for ES-M, who scored five goals within the last two minutes of the first half, to blow the game open.
