Top Six at 6: September 30, 2013

#6 - Mt Markham football visiting Clinton Saturday.  Eric Taylor-Holmes playing some pinball with the Warrior defenders as he bounces off a host of them en route to the 14 yard touchdown.  Clinton won the game though, 26-20.

#5 - 71st Annual E.J. Hermann Invitational Cross Country Meet Saturday from Proctor Park.  Zakaria Adam becomes the first Proctor runner to win a race at the Hermann since 1981, taking first in the Santo Paniccia, for the boys big schools, by 24 seconds!

#4 - Another from Saturday, Westmo football at NY Mills.  Last week's Sports Express Athlete of the Week Tim Harrison with a few stutter steps as he turns the corner for the 29 yard TD.  Harrison scored 5 times, bringing his season total to 15.  Bulldogs won 63-34.

#3 - Sauquoit Valley getting an early jump on Dolgeville Friday night.  First Jason Simon takes it 46 yards to the end zone for the first score of the game.  Then, Korey Lewandrowski with the short pass to Ethan Harris, who makes a nice move then rumbles 53 yards for the touchdown.  Blue Devils though dominating with the 48-26 win.

#2 - Proctor hosting Auburn Friday night.  J'Von Evans drops the punt, but recovers and returns it 60 yards to the hole.  Raiders though fell in overtime again, 22-21 the final.

#1 - The first ever game for the Utica Comets in front of their home fans, Sunday at Kennedy Arena in Rome.  Alex Friesen scoring not once, but twice in the first period against Adirondack.  Comets get their first ever win, 4-2.
