By MIKE LEVIN

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk girls basketball team defeated Waterville 47-42 Tuesday night to reach the Section III Class C-2 final, Friday night at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.  The Mohicans came back from a 24-19 halftime deficit and controlled the fourth quarter, despite the absence of Christy Traglia, who spent a lot of time on the bench thanks to foul trouble.

Traglia still ended up contributing 11 points, which allowed her to pass 1,000 for her Mohawk career.  But Alexis Gilbert was the game's high scorer, with 15.  Katie Buell led Waterville with 10 points.

The Mohicans advance to face top seeded Fabius-Pompey in the section final, with tip-off Friday night scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
