Utica Brewers win home opener

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Brewers beat the Sherrill Silversmiths 4-1 in their home opener on Friday night. Utica is now 5-0 overall this season.

Approximately 500 fans were on hand to see Jacob Petitt pitch seven strong innings, striking out six. Scott Critell had an RBI double in the fifth and Dan Mimms had a triple and a run scored in the seventh.

The Brewers are in Syracuse on Saturday for a double header against the Saltcats. Game one starts at 1pm. Utica is home again on Sunday when they host the Syracuse Junior Chiefs at 7pm.
