Utica Post eliminated from states

NEWBURGH, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Post was knocked out of the American Legion state tournament on Thursday morning, falling 8-3 to Hudson Valley.  Ryan Donovan pitched for UP and took the loss, though he also drove in all three runs at the plate, on a bases loaded double.

The loss came a day after UP fell in the opening game of the American Legion state tournament to Dryden Post by a score of 17-4. 

Utica allowed 7 runs before they got to the plate on 5 hits and 2 errors and could not come all the way back.  Tom DeBernardis took the loss on the mound while Mike Scotellaro had 3 hits for Utica.  Ryan Donovan had a 2-run home run in the loss.  Utica plays Thursday at 9:30 AM in an elimination game against Hudson Valley.
