VERNON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Vernon Downs will resume live racing on Friday with horses already at the track that aren't in two barns under strict quarantine. Shipping horses to or from the track remains suspended. No other infections were reported in the state as of Wednesday.

Racing was suspended on Saturday and the track put under quarantine because of horses found to be infected with equine herpes virus. Agriculture and gambling regulators say it sickened several horses at Vernon Downs. One was put down because of its condition.

Racing is set to resume at 6:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday of this week and May 17th and 18th as well.
