Leading 4-1 going into the third period, the MVCC men's ice hockey team gave up three goals to Canton--including the tying score with :47 seconds left--and lost in overtime, 5-4.

With the Hawks up 4-3 in the final minute of regulation, Canton pulled its goalie, and the MVCC got a 2-on-1 break on offense. But Canton's defense turned the play in the other direction, and Marcy native Rick Simone scored to tie the game 4-4 with 47 seconds left. Dylan Gronowski put in the game-winner with 3:19 remaining in the five-minute overtime.

The loss drops MVCC to 8-3-1 overall. The Hawks are 1-3-1 in their last five games after starting the season 7-0.
