#2 HCCC Men Beat #1 Onondaga

The second-ranked Herkimer County Community College men's lacrosse team reclaimed its throne on Saturday, knocking off top-ranked Onondaga Community College on the road 24-19.

Coming in, Onondaga had won 42 straight games over the past three seasons including five straight over Herkimer, ending the Generals' streak of 21 straight NJCAA Region III titles in the process and winning the last three to become the region's premier team. But with the victory, HCCC will return to the No. 1 ranking this week.

Doug Hoch led Herkimer with eight goals and Justin Hayes also scored eight points on two goals and six assists.

HCCC is now 8-0 overall; OCC is 8-1.
