Raiders land a big man for 2010-2011

By Sports WKTV

HAMILTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Colgate Men's Basketball team just got a little bigger, down the road. John Brandenburg, a 6-foot-11, 241-pounder has transfered in from the University of Virginia. He has to sit out the upcoming season as per NCAA rule. Brandenburg averaged just 1.0 points and 0.8 rebounds in eight games, averaging only 3.3 minutes of action. According to Raiders head coach Emmett Davis, Brandenburg was a top 15 recruit coming out of high school in St. Louis.

"We're really excited, I think he can be an impact player for us," Davis said. "He's going to get an opportunity to play and get a high qualitty education."

Earlier this summer, Notre Dame high school senior and NEWSChannel 2 All Star Pat Moore gave a verbal committment to play at Colgate in 2010-2011.
