SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Inside its new Carmelo K. Anthony practice building, the Syracuse men's basketball team began its new season on Friday afternoon with its annual Media Day.

While the Orange will have to overcome the losses of Jonny Flynn, Eric Devendorf and Paul Harris, who each left SU to turn pro, it returns plenty of talent, including Arinze Onuaku, Andy Rautins and Rick Jackson.  In addition, Scoop Jardine is back after missing last season due to injury, highly-touted freshmen including Jamesville-DeWitt graduate Brandon Triche are on board, and Wesley Jackson, a much-hyped transfer who had to sit out last season due to NCAA rules, is now eligible.

Syracuse's first exhibition game is against Cal State-Los Angeles on Sunday, October 25 at the Carrier Dome.  The Orange open the regular season Monday, November 9 at home against Albany.
