Triche has triple double to lead Motivated


UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The playoffs began Monday in the King of Kings summer basketball league at MVCC, with former Syracuse Guard Brandon Triche's triple double leading top seed Motivated over The Generals 111-79.  Triche scored 20 points and added 11 rebounds and 11 assists. 

Alshawn Hymes led the team with 36 points, while Colgate Raider and Notre Dame grad Pat Moore added 11 points.  Garrett Sharlow led The Generals with 27 points.

In the first quarterfinal game of the day, Hard 2 Guard topped Utica Select 92-87.  Former Proctor Raider T'Andre Richardson led H2G with 28 points, while another Ex-Raider, Maurice Mills, added 24 points and 9 rebounds.  E.J. Gallup led Utica Select with 25 points.

The Men's Quarterfinals continue Wednesday, with Syracuse Elite meeting Hoopsfiend Selectat 6:30 p.m. and Lo Entertainment taking on two seed and defending champion Upstate Swagger at 7:45 p.m.
