Syracuse meets the media on the eve of matchup with Vermont

By By JASON POWLES

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Syracuse Orange had their one practice at HSBC arena and met the national media for the first time on Thursday as they prepare for the opening round game against Vermont on Friday.

The 'Cuse are the one seed in the West Region  and a number one seed as never lost to a 16 seed.  Despite the fact the the Orange have lost two straight coming into the big dance, they are re-focused. Perhaps the early exit from the Big East Tournament helped them get back to what they do best....play aggressive defense.

However, they will do that without Arinze Onuaku. Head coach Jim Boeheim confirmed again that his starting center is definintely out for game one. His status for Syracuse's second game, should they advance, is uncertain.

The Orange will take on the Catamounts on Friday at approximately 9:30pm at CBS.
