Week 4 Training Schedule

May 9, 2011

The Boilermaker is the largest 15K road race in the country, but there are plenty of other quality races locally. If you have not participated in a race you should experience one or two before Boilermaker Sunday. Try a 5k (3.2 mile) run. On May 22rd, there is an excellent 5k race in Utica, the National Distance Running Hall Of Fame 5k run. Take it easy and walk if you have to. Go with a friend and enjoy the experience.

Here’s your schedule for this week:

  • Monday, Day 1 – 4 miles today. Begin at the start line (Culver Ave), run to the corner of Culver and Sherman Drive then back to the starting line.
  • Tuesday, Day 2 – Rest Day
  • Wednesday, Day 3 – Pick a course 2 miles up and 2 miles back.
  • Thursday, Day 4 – Rest Day (Rotate your rest days from previous week however you can keep the same schedule if you prefer)
  • Friday, Day 5 – Rest Day
  • Saturday, Day 6 – A 4mile loop with some light hills, remember to stretch before and after the run.
  • Sunday, Day 7 – Rest Day
