Go the Distance 2009

Your physical training is coming along very well. You are half way in your training. Over the next six weeks we will finish the physical and concentrate on the mental aspects of your preparation for the Boilermaker.

This program training is designed to experience all parts of the Boilermaker course. This again is where a running partner is necessary. This way you can arrange transportation to be at both start and finish points during your training. Again speed is not important distance and endurance is, and it is often easier to do longer runs with a friend.

We’ll be doing 4 workouts this week.
 

  • Monday, Day 1 – A 6 mile run today. Begin at the start line (Culver Ave) follow Boilermaker course, to Murnane Field parking lot.
  • Tuesday, Day 2 – Rest Day
  • Wednesday, Day 3 – A 5 mile run of your choice, with some light hill workout.
  • Thursday, Day 4 – Rest Day
  • Friday, Day 5 – Find a friend and do a 30-minute out, and a 30-minute back workout. Remember run your own pace and not somebody else’s.
  • Saturday, Day 6 – A 5 mile loop of your choice. Concentrate on the pace of your running. A nice even pace to remain injury free.
  • Sunday, Day 7 – Rest Day
