Emily Durr

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Notre Dame Girls Basketball's Emily Durr is no stranger to our athlete of the week award.
This week marks the fifth straight winter she's been selected for the honor.

The last time we saw her, the future Iowa State Guard set a new school record for career points. Just this week, she reached another big milestone, surpassing 2,000 points at AA powerhouse Gates-Chili of Section V.

Yet with all these individual awards she's received, the one thing Emily really wants to do is win a state title with her team, many of whom she's played with for years.

"It's great to see people grow.  See people get better every game, it's great," Durr said. "To see where this program was, what it's stepping up to be, it's great. I think we'll be a contender this year in sectionals and I hope we can win states.

"It's the last year, last hurrah for the five seniors.  That's our ultimate goal, but we've got to take each game one at a time."
