(WKTV) - Our Athlete of the Week is Barrett Celecki from Holland Patent Boys Swimming.
The senior has shattered several school records in the freestyle, at 100, 200, 500 and the 400 relay.
He's already qualified for states in the 200 and hopes to add the 100 at Saturday's sectional meet as well.
Barrett is not only fast in the water, but also on land, where he's been a part of two state championship teams in cross country.
So how does he do it? "Lots of practicing. Throughout the season and offseason I like to swim a lot. Weightlifting is a big part of my success. I'm not skinny, so I like to work out. Just swimming in general year round is what keeps me in shape."
"He learned at an early age to put the work effort in and the work load that it takes to get to that level," says his dad head coach, Mark Celecki. "As he's come up through the program he's developed himself into a really strong freestyler."
