Molly McCulloch

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

HOLLAND PATENT (WKTV) - This week's Athlete of the Week has taken major strides for Holland Patent Swimming this year.

Molly McCulloch, a senior, broke multiple records at last week's Sectional meet at Skaneateles.

She set a sectional, and pool record by finishing the 50 Free with a time of 24.73, and finished the 100 Butterfly with a record-setting 59.58.

After last week's performance, McCulloch is heading to states next weekend to compete for a title, something that she loves to shoot for.

"I've always succeeded in it. I love getting the best times," said McCulloch. "I feel it's one of the hardest sports to be in because it's long, endurance swimming and it's tiring.

"I feel like I'm one of the strongest around and it's not the easiest sport."

McCulloch also said that no matter what happens in the State meet next weekend, she will always continue to swim and train in the sport she loves.
