SAUQUOIT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Jason Nastovski had another fantastic week, rushiing for 155 yards and five TDs, as Dolgeville beat Sauquoit Valley 48-26 Friday night. The Blue Devils came back from an early 14-0 deficit and took a 21-20 lead heading into halftime.
Sauquoit's first two scores came on long TDs, a 46 yard run by Jason Simon and a 53 yard pass from Korey Lewandrowski to Ethan Harris. Nastovski then had TDs of eight and one yard to tie it up.
The Indians took the lead again in the second quarter on a 25 yard TD pass from Lewandrowski to Zach Freeman. But the snap was botched on the extra point attempt, so Sauquoit's lead was just 6, at 20-14.
Late in the half, the Blue Devils would take the lead for good, as Kasey Foster returned an interception 29 yards for the tying score. The extra point gave Dolgeville a 21-20 lead.
Sauquoit had a chance to take the lead back, but with time running down, the officials had trouble setting the ball and the Indians were left without a final chance.
The second half was all Dolgeville, as Nastovski had three more touchdown runs. The Blue Devils sit along atop Class D East, with a record of 4-0. They'll play a non-league game next Saturday, at home against Frankfort.
Sauquoit Valley has now lost two straight, falling to 2-2. They will welcome West Canada Valley next Friday night.
