Hamilton boys soccer wins second straight Class D section title
HAMILTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - For the second straight season Poland and Hamilton clashed for the Class D title and for the second straight season, Hamilton came out on top. The Emerald Knights came-from-behind twice to beat Poland 3-2 on Friday night.
Poland was up 1-0 in the second half when Dan Kraynak scored the first of his two goals to tie the game at one. Poland came back to re-take the lead on a Kenny Miller goal. However, Hamilton seemed unphased as off a direct kick Jack Sullivan's header found the corner of the net to tie the game at two.
Then with about 18 minutes to go, Kraynak lets one fly while racing down the sideline and he goes through the goalie's hands and in. That goal would be enough for the win.
Hamilton moves on to either Cherry Valley Springfield or Margaretville from section IV next Friday or Saturday in the regionals.
