UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New York Mills boys basketball team won back to back section titles, beating S.A.S. 75-52 in the Class D final Saturday at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Fred Russ led all scorers with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Jeremy Miller, the tournament MVP, had 18 for the Marauders, who are ranked #1 in the state in Class D.
Edgardo Colon also added 12, while Ed Schulze had 11 for the unbeaten Marauders (22-0).
Mills advances to the regionals, Saturday at 2 p.m. from Proctor High School, where they'll meet South Kortright, who knocked them out last year.
