ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The RFA hockey team not only stayed perfect on the year with a 4-3 overtime win Friday night, but they also advanced to the finals of their holiday tournament. Joey Rutkowski scored the game winner for the the Black Knights, who advance to 8-0 on the season.
The game went scoreless until late in the first period, when Drew DeBlasiis redirected a shot by Tyler Williams, giving RFA the 1-0 lead at the first intermission. DeBlasiis ended up with a pair of goals, as well as assist. Jeremy Bereza had the other RFA goal.
The Black Knights advance to the finals of the tournament at Kennedy Arena, Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against Mamaronneck.
