POLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Mikayla Blumenstock delivered an incredbile goal with twelve seconds to go as Poland girls soccer earned their first win over Remsen since 2009 Monday, 2-1. The Lady Tornadoes, who got revenge for losing at Remsen 5-1 just eleven days earlier, also earned a share of the CSC Division IV title.
Remsen got on the board less than nine minutes into the game, as Joleen Marfone redirected a shot by Ashley O'Connor. About six minutes later, Poland tied it, with Blumenstock setting up Paige Sullivan.
Courtney Green had 12 saves for the Lady Tornadoes, who improve to 14-1 this season, 7-1 in CSC Division IV. They'll close out the season Wednesday at home against Little Falls, whom Poland beat 1-0 earlier this season.
Meghan Will had 14 saves for Remsen, who fell to 12-2 overall, 6-1 in league play. The Lady Rams have two more games, Wednesday at Dolgeville and Friday at home against Old Forge.
