Clinton gets big send-off from community
CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Clinton baseball team received a huge boost from the community Friday morning, as the Warriors departed for the state semifinals in Binghamton. Parents and students cheered the team during a pep rally at the gym, then sung a round of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
"This is amazing," said head coach Tom Pfisterer as his team left the gym to get on the team's bus. "The support for these boys is incredible. All their friends and classmates, the whole school here. I'm so happy for them, I've never seen anything like this. Never."
The Warriors will be staying overnight in Binghamton, then playing in the Class B final four against Wheatley at ten Saturday morning at Union-Endicott High School. If Clinton wins, they'd advance to the championship game at four.
