Durr named Player of the Year


Notre Dame senior Emily Durr was named Class B Girls Basketball Player of the Year by the New York State Sports Writers Association.  The two-time Sports Express Girls Hoops Player of the Year was joined on the Class B first team by former AAU teammate, Oneonta's Mariah Ruff.  Sports Express Co-Coach of the Year Mike Plonisch was also named Coach of the Year by the NYSSWA.

Also in Class B, Ruff's Oneonta teammate Brittney Herrick made the fourth team, while Durr's teammate, Anari Harris, was named to the sixth team.

In Class C, two players from Little Falls, Gen Schoff (second) and Kelli Shepardson, (fifth) of made it, as did Liz Millea (fourth) from Cooperstown.

A total of seven local girls were named to teams in Class D: Dom Talerico of NY Mills (second), Lauren Weeks (third) and Jess Welch (fourth) of Hamilton, Madison Zizzi (third) and Jordan Sahl (fourth) of Oriskany and Kara Morrison (sixth) and Paige Sullivan (sixth) of Poland.
