Mohawk's Murphy chooses Chestnut Hill

MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - Mohicans senior Carson Murphy has chosen his college:  Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia.  The Division II school is giving the Sports Express Boys Basketball Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013 a partial scholarship to play hoops while pursuing a degree in English.  He hopes to become a teacher and maybe even a basketball coach one day.

Murphy says the scenery at the school was a major factor, saying it felt like being at Hogwarts, the school from the Harry Potter books/movies, because the buildings look like castles.

A major part of the Mohicans' Class C-2 Section III title this past winter, Murphy says he takes pride in being part of the last class to graduate from Mohawk, who will combine with Ilion next fall.
