RFA falls to Nottingham in opening night shootout

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The high school football season opened with a bang on Thursday night, as Nottingham won a seesaw battle over RFA.  Isaiah Carter caught a 31 yard touchdown pass from Javon Jones with 58 seconds to go in the game to put the Bulldogs on top to stay.

But RFA had a lot to be happy about in their first game of 2014, as their revamped offense looked great on the ground and through the air.

Brad Dougherty scored a pair of touchdowns, while Lindell Carter added three, all in the second quarter, as the Black Knights came back from early 6-0 and 12-7 deficits to go to halftime with a 21-12 advantage.

Jones and Carter connected on three different touchdowns to lead Nottingham.

RFA will head to Corcoran next Friday night, where the Black Knights will attempt to even their record.
