ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The RFA hockey team is still perfect on the season, as they beat local rival Clinton 5-2 Saturday night at Kennedy Arena. Nick Mecca had two goals and Keegan Richie added a goal and an assist for the Black Knights, who improved to 3-0 on the season.
RFA led 2-0 going into the second period, then added a third goal thanks to Mike Seifert, who put back a rebound shot.
Clinton finally got on the board when Lucas Hameline scored top shelf on a breakaway. The Warriors got back within one shortly after as Jack Zoller unleashed a shot past goalie Andrew Ross.
But as time was running down in the period and the Black Knights pulled Ross, Richie scored to give RFA a 4-2 lead heading into the final period.
