Spartans get win over Caz on Senior Day

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford hockey team beat Section III Division II National Conference rival Cazenovia Saturday on Senior Day at the Rec Center.  Grant Romeo scored two goals, while Tom Mandel had a goal and two assists for the Spartans, who improved to 15-4 on the season and 8-4 in conference.

The Lakers jumped out to the early lead in the first period, on a goal by Graham Demo.  But New Hartford would grab the lead later in the period, as Mandel and Romeo each scored within 30 seconds of one another.

The Spartans led 2-1 after one, but the game was tied 3-3 after two.  New Hartford would get two more goals in the third to get the win.  Cullen Moran had a goal and an assist for the Spartans, while Jake Clark stopped 21 shots in the New Hartford net.
