UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - This week's Athlete of the Week is Brianna Kiesel from Proctor High School.

The Lady Raiders' sophomore broke the school record for career assists at 258 and scored her 1000th career point in a come-from-behind win over Baldwinsville. She is such a talented young player that she is even on a pace not only to break the school scoring record for girls, but the overall scoring record.

Yet it is the assist record that shows she not just about scoring. Kiesel said, "When I go out and play, it's my first instinct to get everyone else involved. It's easier for me to make things open for myself, so when I do that, it opens things up for my teammate and that's a big accomplishment too.

Her coach, Vinny Perrotta said, "Credit it to her work eithic, she's first to practice and last one to leave, even when there isn't practice, she's around the gym working out or shooting."
