Brookfield advances to state final four

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The little school that can just keeps on rolling. The Brookfield Beavers improved to 18-0 after beating Hancock 3-2 in the Class D regional final at DeLutis Field in Rome on Monday night.

Brookfield scored in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Cody Beeching. Jake Cowen scored on an error in the third.

After Hancock tied the game at two in the 6th, Brookfield loaded the bases in the 7th. With two outs, Jordan Price brought in the winning run with an RBI single to left., Jake Cowen scored to end it.

For the Beavers, their 7th inning win was the first time all season they have had to bat in the bottom of the 7th. Jake Cowen notched his first win in relief of the season.

Next up for Broofield is a trip to the state semifinal on Saturday at 1pm in Binghamton. An opponent has yet to be determined.
