SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Brookfield Beavers beat NY Mills 3-2 to take home their first ever Class D, Section III baseball title.
Jordan Price improved to 7-0 on the season. He pitched all but the final out to help lead his team to the 17-0 mark.
The Marauders got the scoring started in the third as JT Ross belted an RBI single to score Zach Vennaro. With that 1-0 lead, Mills added to it as Ross came home on a routine pop up error to make it 2-0.
Corey Cowen tied things up in the bottom of the third with a two run base hit. Then in the fourth, Austin Warner knocked in Price to give the Beaver the 3-2 lead.
Jeff Albright went the distance and struck out 10 for the Marauders, who finished the season 16-4.
The Beavers will now face the Section IV winner on Monday, June 6th at 4:30 p.m. at DeLutis Field in Rome.
