SAUQUOIT VALLEY, N.Y. (WKTV) - It took 17 innings and two days to decide a winner in the Class C-1 quarterfinal. Little Falls beat top seed Sauquoit 7-5 to advance to the semifinals against Pulaski on Saturday at 1pm.
With the game tied 5-5 after 14 innings, the umpires called it due to darkness. When they resumed on Friday morning they went three more. In the top of the 17th, Luke Godleuski hit a two-out, two-run single. He then pitched the bottom of the 7th to get the win.
Sauquoit had a 4-0 lead on Thrursday when Little Falls rallied in the sixth to tie the game 4-4. Aaron LoPiccolo then gave his team the lead in the bottom of the sixth, only to see Little Falls tie the game in the seventh.
