MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Whitesboro boys basketball team advanced to the Section III, Class A semifinals on Friday night with an 88-62 win over East Syracuse-Minoa.

The Warriors, the No. 7 seed, led the No. 15 Spartans 26-10 after the first quarter.  A 12-4 opening run by ES-M in the second cut the lead to eight, but an ensuing 9-0 run by Whitesboro broke the game back open.

Junior Woodard led the way for Whitesboro with 25 points while Mike Ryan added 19 points.  Sharif Nero scored 17 to lead ES-M.

Whitesboro, now 15-6, will face either No. 3 Notre Dame or No. 11 Fulton in the semifinals at a date and neutral site to be determined.
