Notre Dame Handles Whitesboro, Advances To Class A Final

By By JASON POWLES

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - It wasn't pretty. At times it was ugly but the Notre Dame Jugglers beat the Whitesboro Warriors 55-42 in a Class A semifinal matchup on Thursday night at Proctor.

Whitesboro started off with the early lead twice finding holes in the normally stiffling Notre Dame defense. That's when the Jugglers stepped up going on a 10-0 run. They led 28-18 at the half.

The Warriors made a run to cut the lead to four in the third quarter, but that is as close as they would get. Notre Dame was led by 20 points and 10 rebounds from Pat Moore. Jerrell Hunter chipped in 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Whitesboro was led by Junior Woodard's 24 points.

Notre Dame will face the winner of Oneida and Jamesville-DeWitt. They play Saturday 7pm at LeMoyne. The Class A Final is set for Saturday March 7th at 4:30pm at Manley Field House in Syracuse.
