SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The top-seeded and top-ranked Jamesville-DeWitt boys basketball team lived up to its hype Saturday at Manley Field House, claiming its second straight Section III, Class A championship 86-60 over Notre Dame.

The Red Rams, who also won the state and Federation tournaments last season, opened the game with a 22-5 run.  Notre Dame, the No. 3 seed and ranked No. 21 in the state in Class A, got within 30-22 in the second quarter, but J-D closed the half on a 13-2 run to keep control.

Dajuan Coleman, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound monster of a freshman, led J-D with 27 points and 13 rebounds while Brandon Triche, who will play for Syracuse University next season, scored 22.

The Red Rams head into the state playoffs 22-1; Notre Dame ends the season 19-5.
