Waterville boys going to first ever semifinal

In Saturday's afternoon and evening high school basketball regionals, the Waterville boys are moving on the state semis for the first time, though the Proctor boys and Little Falls girls are out.

The Indians beat Elmira Notre Dame 61-55 in the Class C regionals at OCC's SRC Area.  Sports Express Athlete of the Week Zach Sawyer scored 24 points to lead Waterville.  The Indians will play in the state semifinals Friday, March 14 at 5 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

The Proctor boys fell in their attempt to get to their first ever state semis, 53-43 against Green Tech in the AA regionals from HVCC in Troy.

In a battle of undefeated Class C girls teams back at SRC Arena, Little Falls dropped a 53-43 decision to Harpursville.  The Lady Mounties finished the season at 22-1.
