HOLLAND PATENT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Holland Patent looked every bit the favorite in its playoff opener on Saturday, blowing away Mt. Markham 42-0 in the Section III, Class C Southeast Conference Quarterfinals.

The Golden Knights only led 7-0 after the first quarter but put the game away with 14 in the second and another 14 in the third.  Holland Patent (6-1 overall) will play at undefeated and No. 8-ranked Cazenovia, which shut out Ilion 36-0, in the semifinals next Saturday at a time to be determined.

Holland Patent's offensive attack was a balanced one with five players scoring the six touchdowns.  Running back John Iselo scored two on nine carries, rushing for 74 yards, and quarterback Alex Smith threw two.
