ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Westmoreland Bulldogs are head back to the Dome for a second straight year only this time, its as a Class D school. They beat Notre Dame 35-20 on Friday to advance to the Class D Final against Weedsport on November 6th at 7:30pm.

This was certainly not the Notre Dame team that  the Bulldogs beat in week one. After Westmoreland took the early lead on a Justin Becker seven yard touchdown, Notre Dame came right back to take a 7-6 lead on a pass from Tom Appleton to Tom Giglio. Christian DeRoche's 26 yard touchown run put the Bulldogs right back on top in the first quarter. The lead was shortlived though as Appleton took to the air finding Mike Gaglianese for the tying touchdown. With the game knotted at 14, Dan Smith then took to the air finding Jason Colburn for a 30 yard touchdown strike. Westmoreland led 21-14 at the half.

Notre Dame would get as close as 21-20 after another Appleton score to Colin Hulser. However, that is when the Bulldogs took over. Justin Becker scored his second and third touchdowns to put the game out of reach. He finished with 125 yards rushing and a key interception that iced the game for the Bulldogs.

This will be Westmoreland's second straight section final appearance. They won the Class C section final last year.
