ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Camden Blue Devils had to play from behind all game long but just couldn't get close enough as Chittenango beat them 42-14 on Friday night in the Class B semifinals.
The Blue Devils spotted the Bears 21 points before Cody Sullivan got them on the board with a three yard touchdown run. By halftime it was 28-14 Chittenango.
There was some hope as early in the third, Camden mounted a nice drive with Colby Stratton connecting with Karl Kirch for a four yard touchdown to cut the lead to 28-14.
However that is as close as they could get. Kyle Zimmer and Joe Gilona each scored two touchdowns to lead the Bears to their first section final appearance since 1999 when they were a Class A school.
Camden finishes the season 5-4. The Bears will face the winner of Cazenovia and Oneida in the Class B final on November 5th at the Carrier Dome at 5pm.
