H.S. Football: Hulser sets record in Jugglers' shutout winWEST WINFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Colin Hulser set a new school touchdowns record Friday night as Notre Dame/Rome Catholic shutout Mount Markham 37-0 in the Section III Class C quarterfinals. Hulser's first TD of the game, his 26th of the year, put the Jugglers on top 7-0 in the first quarter and also broke the record of his own head coach, Byron Abraham, when he played for ND. Hulser would score again later in the first quarter, on a 4th and goal from the one yard line. The Mustangs had a chance to make a statement at the beginning of the game, when they recovered an ND/RCH fumble on the opening kickoff. But the Juggler defense held on a 4th down, then marched down the field for Hulser's record breaking score. With his team up 7-0, QB Colin Pastorella added to the lead with a 51 yard touchdown run, extending the lead to 14-0. Hulser's second score made it 20-0 at the end of the first quarter. Pastorella scored two more times in the second quarter, one on a run and another on a pass. ND/RCH picked up a field goal before the end of the half, ending the scoring, not just in the half, but in the game. The Jugglers advance to the Class C semifinals next weekend, where they will face top seed Skaneateles. Most Popular |
