NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - On a day in which many high school football games were delayed or postponed by severe thunderstorms, NY Mills dropped a close game to Bishop Grimes 21-20. Connor Evans caught a two point conversion to win the game and that followed a TD run by Tyler Carbonaro to pull Grimes within one.
Shawn Kula ran 18 times for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Mills, including a 33 yarder that put the Marauders on top 6-0. Bill Blasland tied up the game with a touchdown off a fumble recovery by Kula, to make it 6-6 at the half.
Mills took leads of 12-6 and 20-13 in the second half, but couldn't hold the lead. With the loss, the Marauders fell to 0-2. Up next is a road game Friday night at Sauquoit Valley.
