Warriors fall in Class A Championship

By MIKE LEVIN

SYRACUSE, N.Y.  - The Whitesboro Warriors came into the Carrier Dome confident they could win their third straight section title, but Friday night was a nightmare, as the Warriors fell 27-0 to ES-M.  The Section III Class A title game was scoreless until late in the first half, when Tyler Johnson threw a touchdown pass to Bobby Campese.   The pass went through the hands of Whitesboro's Mike Bunal, who had an open lane to a touchdown at the other end, had he made the interception.

With a 6-0 lead at halftime, the Spartans dominated the second half, with Jeff McDufffie scoring two touchdowns and Johnson getting one as well.

The Warriors had just eight passing yards in the game, while ESM had 84.  Both teams rushed for over 200 yards, with 212 for Whitesboro and 214 for ESM.

It's the first section title since 2006 for the Spartans, who are now 10-0.  The Warriors fell for the first time this year, and finish at 9-1.
