LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneonta girls basketball team refused to say 'die' Saturday at Liverpool, keeping its perfect season alive with a 36-33 comeback/hold-your-breath win over Cazenovia in the state Class B regional round to earn a berth in the final four.

Oneonta, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class B this week, trailed 21-12 at halftime.  The Lady Yellowjackets recovered in the third quarter to go ahead 28-26 and stretched their lead to 33-26 in the fourth.  Cazenovia clawed back to within one point on free throws with 2:30 remaining and had the ball down three with 12 seconds left, but two shots to tie missed, and the clock ran out to seal the victory for Oneonta.

The Lady Yellowjackets, now 24-0, will play on at the state Class B final four next weekend at Hudson Valley Community College.  Oneonta will face No. 11-ranked Olean from Section VI in the semifinals Friday at 10 a.m.  The championship is Saturday at 4:00.

Madie Harlem, who will play at Hamilton College next season, was the clear star of the game for Oneonta, scoring 30 of the team's 36 points.  Ellen Burr led Cazenovia with 13 points while NCAA Division I-bound Kiley Evans was held to just two.

Cazenovia, ranked No. 8, ends the season 22-4.
